MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING BETWEEN THE ASIAN-AFRICAN LEGAL CONSULTATIVE ORGANIZATION AND ALLAMEH TABATABA’I UNIVERSITY, 17 JULY 2021

On 17 July 2021, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the Asian-African Legal Consultative Organization (AALCO) and Allameh Tabataba’i University (ATU) of the Islamic Republic of Iran. H.E. Prof. Dr. Kennedy Gastorn, Secretary-General of AALCO and Prof. Dr. Hossein Salimi, President of the ATU signed the MoU on behalf of the respective parties.

With a background of more than 60 years of higher education in humanities, Allameh Tabataba’i University is a globally renowned university in international law determined to further promote academic exchanges among legal communities across the globe and encourage research on major international law issues. Its International Law Clinic is, in particular, specialized in matters of public international law and will represent the ATU in carrying out the activities and events in implementation of the MoU.  

The present MoU aims to provide a framework between the two parties to promote cooperation in matters of common interest, in particular, of AALCO member States. Organizing joint events, conducting legal research and issuing joint publications on diverse international law topics by the two parties are facilitated by the MoU.
