Dr. Kamalinne Pinitpuvadol, SG of AALCO participated in the Tokyo International Law Seminar held in Tokyo from 21-24 August 2023. At the reception on the first day, he thanked H.E. Mr. TAKEI Shunsuke State Minister for Foreign Affairs for the efforts made by the Government of Japan to realize the Seminar. On the third day, the Secretary-General gave a lecture titled "Current Challenge to International Law: The Role of AALCO" and shared his insights on the role of AALCO in the progressive development of international law and its codification. On this occasion, the Secretary-General also joined the judge panel of the final round of the Asia Cup International Law Moot Court Competition for Future International Lawyers in Asia.
During his trip to Japan, the Secretary-General of AALCO paid a courtesy visit to Professor Tshilidzi Marwala, Rector of the United Nations University, Under-Secretary-General of the United Nations University. The two seized this opportunity to discuss the venues for augmenting the cooperation between the United Nations University and AALCO.

The Secretary-General also visited the United Nations Asia and Far East Institute for the Prevention of Crime and the Treatment of Offenders (UNAFEI). He was warmly received by Mr. Morinaga Taro, Director and Ms. Irie Junko, Deputy Director of UNAFEI. He was accompanied by Judge Yuji Iwasawa, Judge of International Court of Justice and Mr. Jun Yamada, Deputy Secretary-General of AALCO.
