Celebration of AALCO’s Constitution Day and its Sixty-First Anniversary in New Delhi
On 10th November 2017, the Asian-African Legal Consultative Organization commemorated its Sixty-First Anniversary by holding its Constitution Day celebration in New Delhi. The celebration was held at the ITC Maurya Hotel and was attended by Ambassadors, High Commissioners and Liaison Officers from AALCO Member States as well as special invitees from several non-Member States, international organizations, members of the academia and the staff of AALCO.
During the event, the Secretary-General of AALCO, Prof. Dr. Kennedy Gastorn, delivered the welcoming address in which he outlined his vision and mission for AALCO in the coming years and also enumerated the growing activities being carried out by the Organization.
H.E. Mr. Apirat Sugondhabhirom, Minister and Deputy Chief of Mission of the Royal Thai Embassy, was the chief guest and delivered an address on behalf of the Vice-President of the Fifty-Sixth Annual Session. He thanked the Secretary-General and the Secretariat of AALCO for holding the Constitution Day celebration and also underscored the continued and future importance of AALCO’s work, as well as the willingness of his country to work with AALCO and its Member States towards further progressive development of international law. Dr. V.D. Sharma, Joint Secretary and Legal Adviser, Legal and Treaties Division, Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India also addressed the gathering.
