The Secretary-General Prof. Dr. Kennedy Gastorn’s visit to the Headquarters of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in Geneva, Switzerland
H.E. Prof. Dr. Kennedy Gastorn visited the Headquarters of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in Geneva on the 18 July, 2017 to augment the long-standing relationship between AALCO and UNHCR, keeping in view, the Memorandum of Understanding between the two of 23 May, 2002. The Secretary General, in his meetings with the officials of UNHCR, updated and discussed the possibility various items of collaboration in line with the current work programme of AALCO on refugees and migrants in the view of New York Declaration for Refugees and Migrants of 2016.
In particular, the Secretary-General met and exchanged views with Mr. Daniel Endres, Director, Comprehensive Responses, Comprehensive Refugee Response Framework (CRRF) along with the members of his team.
He also had meetings and discussions with Mr. Bernard Doyle, Deputy Director, Regional Bureau for Asia and the Pacific, his team members and Mr. Cornelis (Kees) Wouters, Senior Refugee Law Advisor, Division of International Protection.
In addition, he also met Mrs. Angele Dikongue-Atangana, Deputy Director, Bureau for Africa and the two seized the opportunity to discuss matters of mutual interest.
